Archos announced earlier this week a new updated 7-inch Android Honeycomb powered tablet called Archos 70b which costs $199. Acording to Archos, this is the first true Honeycomb tablet under $200 and its direct competitor is the Amazon’s Kindle Fire.
Other than using Android 3.2, Archos 70b also provides a 1024 x 600 resolution capacitive touchscreen, 512 MB of Ram, 1.2 GHz processor, microphone and webcam. The Kindle Fire is similar to Archos 70b, the difference being the dual-core processor which is clocked at 1GHz.
But Kindle Fire it’s still a winner in this “face-off”, taking into account the user interface on the Amazon’s slate and the ecosystem for movies, books, magazines and music.
