Amazon released earlier this week a silent over-the-air (OTA) 6.2.1 update for the Kindle Fire. The improvements added by this new update includes :
- Better fluidity and performance
- Increased Touch navigation responsiveness
- Carousel display editing options
- Password lock on Wi-Fi access
You can get the update from here if you want it but keep reading…
It has been recently reported over at XDA-Developers forum that the recent OTA update kills the rooting procedure in case that you applied it. This will irritate a lot of adventurous Kindle Fire owners that want to modify their tablet and bring different development goodies on the Fire.
But good news! The guys over at Rootzwiki created a One Click Root App supporting version 6.2.1 and previous ones. For instructions on how to root and to get the root app for 6.2.1, head to Rootzwiki.
If you want to discuss about this new update and about rooting techniques, please head to our Kindle Fire Forum.
